Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008 as a side project to the band members’ various bands, ANCHORS served as an outlet for the guys to get back to their roots and play the kind of music they grew up on. Combining manic guitar work and vocals that are equal parts harsh and nostalgic, ANCHORS deliver an addictive brand of furiously fast, technical punk rock that has quickly become the main focus of all 5 members.
In November 2010, ANCHORS released their hard-hitting debut album ‘Bad Juju’, recorded with Joel Taylor (The Abandonment, The Broderick, In Trenches) at Three Phase Studios in Melbourne and mastered by Alan Douches (Brand New, Lifetime, Every Time I Die). ‘Bad Juju’ made Triple J’s Short Fast Loud Top 40 list of 2010, and has garnered glowing reviews across the board.
After touring their home-country of Australia a number of times in 2010 and 2011 in support of ‘Bad Juju’, the band quickly returned to Three Phase Studis with Joel Taylor to record their sophomore full length, ‘Lost at the Bottom of the World’. Since it’s release, the album has been blowing people away with it’s 12 blazing new tracks, showcasing the band at an even more intense and impressive level of musicianship and songwriting.
“Lost at the Bottom of the World is a rip-rockin’ good time for one and all, picking up steam with each track… Half a world away, Anchors are killing it.” – Punknews.org
