I thought I’d take a minute to update everyone who preordered the LIGHT THIS CITY “Stormchaser” and “Facing the Thousand” LPs, and thank you all for your amazing support! They have all been packed up and sent out (by Ryan Hansen and myself), so you all should have received email shipping confirmations/tracking #’s if you pre-ordered either of these releases. If you haven’t received a confirmation email for some reason, feel free to contact us, and we will let you know what’s going on with your order. The vinyl came out amazingly, and I can’t wait for you all to hold these in person and spin them on your turntables! The sound quality is excellent, and we’re all really excited about how the new layouts turned out- It feels amazing to see these records on vinyl for the first time, to say the least.

As we gear up here for the LIGHT THIS CITY reunion show tomorrow night in San Francisco with DARKEST HOUR and EARLY GRAVES, I can’t help but feel that the idea of LIGHT THIS CITY has all strangely come full-circle in 2015 with the re-issuing of our two favorite albums, and all the practicing we’ve been doing over the past few months in anticipation of tomorrow evening. First off, it’s been SO fun to play these songs again, and I can safely speak on behalf of everyone in the band when I say that it’s been a real treat to be able to revisit this material with a new fire that wasn’t there before: A more confident, experienced, yet RELAXED fire. We have nothing to prove, we just want to have an awesome time and celebrate all three bands playing, as they are all incredible. Tomorrow night should be a memorable one, as DARKEST HOUR is the sole reason that LIGHT THIS CITY began in 2002. If Laura and I had never heard ‘Mark of the Judas’, our brains wouldn’t have changed in the direction of melodic death metal, and that is just fact. We owe so much to Darkest Hour, so please come join us tomorrow in paying homage to their 20 years as a band. Thank you all for your support in this whole crazy experience! Enjoy your records!
