LIGHT THIS CITY recently announced their reformation as a band after 10 years, as well as plans for an upcoming full-length LP, coming March of 2018! The Creator-Destructor Records Showcase marks the band’s first official show “back” as a band, and word on the street is they’ll even be premiering a new song or two! SPINEBREAKER continues to support their 2016 debut full-length release, “Ice Grave”, and WILDERNESS DREAM is hot on the heels of their latest EP release, “Paralysis Rise”. VIRAL is hard at work on their first official LP release and Creator-Destructor debut, which will be sure to please all you death-metal-heads out there. GLACIER EATER is also in the lab working on their sophomore concept LP and Creator-Destructor debut, which will see a summer 2018 release, and REALMS OF VISION just completed their debut full-length! LIGHT THIS CITY To Release First New Album in a Decade!

We are so excited to announced that LIGHT THIS CITY have reunited to record their first new LP in a decade! The band began in 2002 when best friends, vocalist Laura Nichol and drummer Ben Murray decided to start a melodic death metal project in the vein of At the Gates, Carcass, and In Flames. After the sparks were lit, the two soon wrote their debut 2003 full-length, The Hero Cycle, which quickly landed them a deal with Prosthetic Records, who would go on to release the band’s following three albums- 2005’s “Remains of the Gods”, 2006’s “Facing the Thousand”, and the band’s 2008’s swansong, “Stormchaser”…
In 2010, LIGHT THIS CITY played five final shows, the short tour titled “The Final Thrash Attack”, in which the band could celebrate the songs of “Stormchaser” and give the fans a bit of closure that they never received with the band’s sudden disappearance. In September of 2015, Darkest Hour requested that LIGHT THIS CITY play the San Francisco date of their 20th anniversary tour. The band quickly reunited within a few months to rehearse one final set that would celebrate the band’s four-album career. The show was absolutely one for the books, sparking the flame which lead the band to reunite.
LIGHT THIS CITY will enter Castle Ultimate Studios with Zack Ohren to record their fifth full-length LP in December. Murray’s own Creator-Destructor Records will be releasing the album in March of 2018; stand by for further updates to be released in the coming months. We have also launched a new line of LIGHT THIS CITY Merchandise, starting with two new t-shirts in our online store!

WILDERNESS DREAM Announce “Paralysis Rise” EP!

We are incredibly excited to announce the release of WILDERNESS DREAM’s upcoming “Paralysis Rise” EP! Clocking in at just under 20 minutes, the 7 deadly new songs that comprise the band’s upcoming thrash assault retain the same intensity and urgency that characterized the band’s debut self-titled EP release, while boasting similar misanthropic, nihilistic lyrical content. However, the listener will quickly notice that WILDERNESS DREAM have eliminated most remaining melody and lingering punk influences and replaced them with a doubled-down violent dose of dissonant, razor-sharp riffs and unpredictable, chaotic song structures. Tracks like “Spiritual Predator” and “The Observer” see the band at their most blistering speeds yet, thundering through every chainsaw-driven riff and tortured lyric without looking back, leaving the listener zero time to take a breath. At the same time, songs like “Venom”, “Ghosts”, and “No Light” see WILDERNESS DREAM bringing the tempos down to more stomping, punishing grooves, rounding out the band’s second EP release with numerous unique and refreshing moments of sonic domination.
“Paralysis Rise” was recorded in February-April of 2017 with Scott Goodrich at Nu-Tone Studios in Pittsburgh, CA. The EP will be officially released on July 14th, 2017 via Creator-Destructor Records on 12″ EP Vinyl/Digital.

“The Creator-Destructor Podcast” Returns!

It’s been a year since we went silent, but “The Creator-Destructor Podcast” is back in action! We did 12 episodes in 2016 with the likes of numerous righteous creative-types and bands (Darkest Hour, The Black Dahlia Murder, Murder By Death, etc), but a’las, the cruel hand of life caught up with us and the podcast got pushed to the side, but fear not! We are back with a renewed energy and sense of world domination, donned in new armor and ready to share all of our undeniably useless opinions to the masses, on just about anything and everything. You heard it here first people, the podcast is back with a vengeance and we plan on releasing an episode every week on Tuesdays!
I thought it was only appropriate to re-launch the podcast the way we launched it initially, with my best friend and bandmate, Laura Nichol – We talk for 2 hours about the new Heartsounds record, what’s been happening in our lives in the past year, and a shit-ton of other intensely fascinating topics. Some say that Laura and I have a “dynamic” that is rare, something only found in best friends (who used to be high-school sweethearts) who have also played in bands together their entire lives… Well, y’all can decide for yourselves. Regardless, it was a goddamn blast to setup the mics again and sit down with Ms. Nichol for two hours of friendshippppp. Give it a listen here!

Reissue in ‘Electric Blue’ Colored Vinyl w/ Splatter! This pressing is extremely limited to 250pcs, so get yours before they are gone!
